It has been a while since I last blogged :)

Let's talk about something serious.

Recently, I felt very tired. Who was not? Somehow, I find that CCA takes a lot of time but you have no choice cuz you really want to stay in campus or else, you have no other home. I have also learnt that it is possible for a person to have 1 hour of sleep to go through the day but not the next day. Many quizes in a row are common for uni.

But what I have been worrying about more is the majoring.

I always thought that I wanted to come here for Acturial Science. But I do not think so anymore. Chatting with a senior in that course made me feel that maybe I am really not up to it. He is the maths kind of person but even he finds it difficult. Not to mention his stats was A+.

If I do not take that course, what is left for me?

I know, people always love this sentence, "Choose what you like'. Like hell I have anything I like. Mkt sucks, HR not my thing, Tourism no. What is left is Banking and finance, IT.

Banking and finance... I guess it is ok. The only problem I have with it is the retrenchment. I really do not want to be out of work during an economic crisis. And it is a hell load of things to remember. All the theories and formulas.

Or I can try to apply into accountancy which I really have no interest in. But if you look at the career prospective, every company needs accountant. So, it is a little safer in a sense. Furthermore, the fact that so many people had passed the professional exam, it means that it is doable. The only thing is that I have no interest and alwasy find it a torture. But if I really want to change, I need to apply NOW!!! Cuz it is difficult to change to ACC.

What I really like. Econs. Honestly. But why did I take BUS instead? Cuz Econs is a bad degree according to the elders.

Do I suck or what?

ps: Sis, leave your comment in this entry if you read it...

Sometimes, life is not under your control, well, most of the time.

So you would want to control things that you think that you can control, like maybe what you eat, what you want to do tonight, what you want to wear or maybe control someone else ;p

But when you lose that control of the tiniest, simplest thing that you thought you have control over, life sort of sucketh at that moment, right?

Like you really don't want something but you just need to do it.

Isn't it bad enough that you got the suckiest of everything, especially when the year has just started, and you think to yourself how much more terrible can the year be or is this going to show how my this year is turning out or you can simply classify me as paranoid.

Or simply it is just showing temper to innocent people.

Sorry.

Ps: I wish I could call dad and talk to him about how scared I am about the new semester. Like how to cope with the classes and not knowing how good the lecturers will be and how well I can absorb all the new info. I think I am not ready for the new semester. Like, when have I ever been ready for anything... Failure. All I know is to eat and complain.

I am really scared. See, I really don't think uni is nice, at all... I know, it is just me.

I know, if I am afraid even before I start, I have already lost the battle. So, I should try :) Emo no more!!!! Emo be gone! ;p

Perhaps the teachers do not matter, maybe it is the student, right? [Despite the fact that people have been complaining about their teachers, serves me right for listening people talking bad about other people T.T]

I know I know. Three entries in a row :)

I don't know. Tomorrow is Stats. Well, lets just say it determines whether I should and also able to get into the course.

Decision analysis and linear programming. These two I fear most cuz it is either you get the question or 40 marks gone. Really. No matter how much you studied, if your decision tree or your interpretation is wrong, that is it. You can spend time on something else. Which is why I am still thinking if I should do them last. Haha.

My record so far with decision analysis is P(correct)<>

Meanwhile for LP, how am I supposed to know that I am supposed to know that the variables are Shanghai Small size (SS), Shanghai Medium size (SM), Shanghai Large size (SL), Penang Small size (PS).... and it continues until the equation of the profit is

Maximize profit
coefSS + coefSM + coefSL + coefPS + coefPM + coefPL + coefBS + coefBM + coef BS

Yup, it can be that long plus even more constraints such as the percentage usage of capacity in Shanghai must be equal to Penang and must be equal to Bangalore.

I know. Haha. I hope tomorrow's paper won't be as tough. Or else, I can say bye bye to 40 marks.

And Econs on Thursday... Sigh...

Somehow, it feels like holiday after the first paper. Haha. But I would say I should have done better in first paper. Not up to my satisfaction which may also mean a bad grade. Oh well, it is over ^^

Now, must try to focus on other subjects. Haha. Sigh... But I can imagine how bored it is going to be after the exams with nothing to do...

ps : Buffalo Sh is trying to tickle me... *stares* And she left with that silly grin on her face. Hehe. Must meet up with Mic after exam! You owe me something. Hehe.

There is something that has never occurred to my mind ever since I step into this uni. Maybe it is really my ignorance and my naïve and simplistic perception of the world. Even if I am in uni, I might not be able to graduate with a cert. I know, I know. It feels like, "You mean you did not know this or even have this thought in your tiny little brain!!!"

So, uni life is a lot tougher than SPM, A levels. Cuz both of that, you keep practicing and you will be able to somehow figure it out and you sill know the sample answer. Lol. Like Chem. Haha. But in uni, it is different. I do not even know how to do the questions. Plus, there is no discussion on questions like the exam questions in tutorial. Excepts perhaps Stats and Econs.

Whoever said life in uni is fun? Sigh... In fact, A levels was better.

Seat belt law is supposed to reduce accident rate. But when people have seat belts on which reduce the chances of injuries makes people drive faster! And more accidents!

This is why I like Econs. Interesting.

Econs quiz tomorrow and I am still at chapter 1.

DXO
September 07, 2008
Venue : DXO
Event : Hall 10 Pageant
Date : 6 September 2008

Yup, yesterday.

My SP did not win. He got second ;p

And the pretty lady from my block did not win T.T She got second too...

The winner for a guy is not exactly very good looking but maybe cuz he is bigger size? While the girl who won... Let's just say my block's girl should have won the best hair award cuz the winner's hair is like a rebond-perm-rebond-perm-too much straightening-and-not-moisuterized hair!

My dress which I later found out was worth only $9.90 was funny and I felt like some neon light cuz it was white and under the lightings, I am a lampu. Haha. Somebody lent it to me so I got no complains. But sh and th both felt it was nice...

I got to go on stage and catwalk too! Some SHINE agency people asked me to be one of their new discovery participant. Haha. Nope, I did not fall down cuz I was wearing flats which means I am already out, but heck care la. Plus, I do not know how to catwalk. I rather walk in flats than make a fool out of myself in heels. And my flats belong to sh too. They never teach, so basically you just go up to make a fool of yourself ;p And from three girls and three giys, they will choose one from each. My friend and I joined cuz the other girl is definitely winning. You get a SHINE contract! The other girl is from NUS! Haha. But man, she is damn hot. So, all the NUS guys who are single and available, look out for the FASS girl! But the guy who asked me to be on stage is damn cute! Even sh thinks so too! Hehe, wished that all the McNair girls can see him too then I guess all of you will also say that!

Makes me feel like I have nothing nice cuz borrowed everything from everyone. Haha. Until a guy has to tell me that he nees to bring me shopping! And he told me i should have a small clucth or something cuz holding your handphone and purse is so unglam!

List of things in a girl's purse by the guy:

mascara [nope]
eye liner [nope]
blusher [nope]
lipstick [nope]
foundation [I got powder la, I think after I said nope too many times he sort of think I have nothing at all]
tissue
wet tissue [you mean baby wipes?]
handphone

He knows more than I do. Haha. But he is really nice. Maybe a little too metro?

Sigh, all this just for one night thing... Makes me feel so sad after. Cuz nothing to look to anymore but relieved at the same time cuz I don't know how to club! Haha. So you can see me sitting there and just sitting there. Although one nice girl was trying to drag me in and move my shoulders after I said I cannot dance! She is SO sweet!!!

Now back to my sad sad life with lots of projects and a quiz on Wed, presentation on Thu, interview with VIP on Fri and my Mon and Tus is all taken away for all these! T.T

ps : No photo cuz the guys with big Nikons and Canons have not uploaded or compiled yet. Facebook! :) And I felt like a celebrity when there are like 5 flashes from different directions coming to the girls when taking photo! Damn good! Now I hope it looks as good ;p

I spent the morning after thinking about why is my uni life so bad? Or why am I feeling that it sucks!

What I am worrying about?

1. Money. Buying books, traveling, eating good food, tuition fees... Even going out needs money. It is not like last time, you can drop everything and just walk to Sheng Sheong. Or playground or just walk around. Or McD to get that ice-cream. If I walk to McD now, I would have burnt enough calories equivalent to Big Mac + McFlurry.

2. Whether I can do my projects well. I have no idea how to do!!! I have been staring at it, thinking of an alternative!!! But guess I am not matured enough to think of one.

3. Will I do well in the end of this sem? To get into what I want.

4. When to wash my clothes since the whether is extremely irregular! There is no drier. Even washing the blanket is a problem.

5. What CCA should I join cuz I need the points to stay here, in the hall. Basically, it is a battle for main com! Furthermore, Youth Olympic is coming up! My Hall 10 is affected. As in people will get kicked out to accomodate all these sports people T.T

6. Feels so stuffed. No place to go. Only sh and I. Not like last time. You get to see many many people and do a lot of crap when you are stressed. I do not even see th much.

7. Clothes. I want more shorts. Maybe above knee shorts. I cannot even buy one cuz afraid if I am spending too much money. Not even a magazine!!! Jeans are too hot on certain days and difficult to wash and dry.

I think I can conclude that I am a worrier. I gotta have a life.

Sigh.

Business seems to have much more workload compared to Eng. Honestly.

I have a presentation in week 3. This Thursday. Then week 6, week 9, week 11. And one of them confirm clashed with another project. And the other subject has not given the project yet...

What can I say? I am in the wrong field.

And my senior sabo me. Now only she said that she is not selling me the book.

Where the hell can I find a second hand book now!!!

I am saving money.

After having to spend $101.40 on the two books that I cannot find in buy & sell cuz different edition and the lecturers decided to use totally different books compared to last year T.T

Spending $120 on the Student Pass application T.T And not getting my SP cuz I think she typed my name wrongly, hence resulting in her not being able to find my SP T.T

Sharing a printer T.T

I am poor.

Little did I realised, please knock some sense into me tiny brain, that BUS is another GP. SO much reading. So little time.

I shall not stress myself. I shall not stress myself. It is ok...

And there is no drier. No sun. Hope my clothes dry in time.

Other than that, Hall 10 turned out to be ok. Quiet, next to the forest. And not to mention, there are still no occupants in the next room. Better not say anything.

Need to get some shorts too... It is damn hot walking around in jeans unless if you have lectures.

Orientation.

Group : Chun Li.

Cheer : Wo de ne zhui da! [My boobs is the biggest!]

Day 1

Skipped.

Day 2

Amazing race at first. Then went to guides camp. I hate amazing race. I hate running. But I like dragon boating. Fun~ Had Fright Night at night. Each guy pair with a girl but we did not get to choose the guys. The ghosts were really scary and I screamed and laughed all the way. Scream and laugh and scream and laugh. I think we looked like a weird crazy couple laughing and screaming all the way.

Day 3

Station games. Played laser combat. Damn fun if I know what the range was. No wonder whenever I shoot the person never seems to die! Plus the gun is 3kg. I might a well carry my laptop... Campfire at night. Back to NTU.

Day 4

Sentosa Day. My neck is sun-burned. My scalp is sun-burned. But Sentosa was the best day. Had a lot of fun rolling in sand when we are wet although I pitied the guy who had to carry me. Then we get to meet our SP. Not sure whether it is secret partner/pal. Basically it is like everyone was give a nickname, mine was Catherine Zeta-Jones, my partner was Michael Douglas. And we were blindfolded and they led us to some place to chat with each other. Luckily my SP was a nice guy who can crap as much as me :D Of course, on and off some seniors will disturb us... And maybe eavesdrop.

Initiation Night at night. Lets just say one word : dirty. We had to crawl through a mixture of maggi noodles, sauces, mayo... Then we had to go through all the vigourous activities like sending all you teammates up to the roof, sending everyone up the hill on a slippery slide, pulling a lorry up the hill and more. It was frightening as people may die from anything. Cuz there isn't any protection... Scary... Lastly, we had to walk through an underground tunnel with a light stick. And it is darn dirty and long... Slept at 5:30 am.

Day 5

Slack day. Get to meet our SP for real and the guys have to guess which girl is his SP. Of course, they had to do something stupid. My SP took three guesses T.T He wanted to see the height at first but since some girls were in heels, he was not sure. Then he had to do diamond push up with the girl on him. Fail ;p Then he had to strip. Then second one he choose the girl with specs cuz I told him that I wear specs. And so happened I did not. But I knew it was him cuz he had to say his nickname and he had a ring. Turned out, my SP is in the running for some Dinner and Date Manhunt and Beauty Pageant, so he had to leave me for a while during the buffet :( Took a picture with him but I did not get it ;p

ps : I need sleep and I need to get the smelly smell from my shoe!!! T.T

I am scared.

Of uni...

I know, this is so stupid. But it is really scary.

The fear of not knowing how it is like.

Will I be able to graduate with a good results?

Will I make good friends? Do I even want to? Haha.

Will I face a lot of financial issue?

I am such a noob at appearance and dressing up. And my sis always said that appearance is damn important for business. Worry.

Will it last? Relationships.

When will I grow up? Do I even want to start taking all the responsibility?

I don't want to leave home. A very sudden feeling. I want to stay like this. With my family. Sigh...

This is it. 6 years of my life there. No turning back. Maybe more, I think 10 years. I do not want to marry a SG guy. NO!

Why this feeling?

Since I was worrying about my hall in NTU. Guess what? Worry no more.

I got Hall 10.

Features

1. Dad says that I get to exercise a lot, thanks to my new hall cuz it is furthest away from the NBS and nearest to the entrance/exit. Glad that I can go out anytime.

2. Next to the under construction Hall 11. Not to mention NBS is next to an under construction site.

3. All buses passing there are leaving NTU. Those that are coming in needs to go a big big round before getting to NBS. So I can get a good view and relaxation before going NBS. In fact, I can have more time thinking about business when I am changing bus. Or I can get more exercise walking to the bus station.

4. Surrounding only has one canteen. Good for me, I do not have to think so much about food and worry where to eat.

5. Everywhere else are houses. So, I will get a homey feeling.

I am so exalted with the given choice. So extremely excited to see my hall and get into uni life. So eager to go around my campus.

Glad that I do not have to be bothered by appealing for a new hall cuz it is not allowed. At least, less one thing to think about.

NBS students should walk more cuz they need to keep up with the fast-paced business world. Eng. students should be given a break cuz they deal with lots of calculation. Their brains are tired.

It will be a great combination if I were given the sixth floor of the furthest block. It will be a perfect settlement.

ps : I hope the Internet works.

Not the A levels. It is now!

What am I doing?

1. Worrying about loan, income tax, household income, calculations of the need of a loan, estimating my annual spending, signing of documents, guarantors, all the blinking fees, time frame for me to get all stuff done so that i can come back in Aug, etc.

2. Attending funeral and visiting the sick older generation.

3. Teaching tuition to the Form 5 girl.

4. Undone and not started packing and shopping.

What am I supposed to do...

Planning on packing only two bags : one large, one small. Excluding a carry bag. I do not know how to bring the pillow which mom insist on me bringing. Not like they are the one carrying it anyway.

Honestly, I do not know what to buy. Nothing... Clothes? So that I have to carry more? Bags? Even more rubbish?

ps : I wonder if any 'privileged' kid gets to worry about this. I really hate money.

so, in the end, everyone is going to NUS except a few of us. yes. i am going to NTU for business!

which means my entire life is going to be there. 3 years uni, 3 years work, 3 more years to pay back the loans which i will be needing :( that is like 10 years :(

i wonder if my dog will still recognize me when i come back :(

i am so so lost. not sure if i want to take up actuarial science. or something else. well.

option 1

apply for UTAR actuarial course and then do their 3+0 here. which is very very cheap compared to all the 2+2 in US. but UTAR... it seems like i have wasted my time doing A levels in SG then. cuz i could have taken up the foundation in UTAR and head straight into the course. unless you want to advice, 'take it as an experience'. sigh... NTU offers actuarial too but you have to compete for the placing depending on your first year results on stats and prob... haha. seems like my chance is bigger in UTAR, huh? not much, just slightly bigger depending on who is in the course. furthermore, their intake is in may! wth! meaning i have to apply asap!

option 2

go for the 2+2 in HELP, INTI, UCSI, Taylor's. sm told me that she is paying RM 60 000 per annum for tuition fee alone in US. like i can afford it?

option 3

wait for NTU's response and if i cannot make it, go for other courses. but NTU offers exemptions for the UK paper. 8 papers! if you do well, of course. UTAR does not since they are following the US board. but UK board does 15 papers while US board does 10 papers to complete the whole thing!

i am really at lost now. should i even take this course. the percentage of people passing is 30 to 40% for the UK board.

UTAR is not exactly really famous since it is new. i think 4th year? imagine a degree in actuarial in UTAR compared to marketing in NTU. hm...

and studying in UTAR = stuck at home.

and seeing cy who i never never wanted to meet anymore. she is just... argh!

or maybe i should just go for psychology in HELP.

what should i do?

people keep saying depends on your interest! wth. i do not know what i will be learning how can you say depends on my interest?!

i do not want to waste my life in actuarial if i cannot make it. since sm also says it is difficult. the teacher in Kumon who did the course says it is difficult but if you are not lazy and willing to work hard... this means i am going to study for my entire life. sigh.

and if i am really doing this, i should go UTAR cuz it is cheap and i pay 10% of the actual fee for the professional exams, the 10 papers since MY is a developing country.

tried looking for the price of the exams but cannot find! argh!

i am really lost... T.T

this friday...

should i say i am starting to be nervous despite of all the things i posted in my previous entry?

i am not sure.

cuz now i found a reason why i must get good results and be accepted in the uni there.

cuz that is my only ticket out of here.

as stupid as it sounds...

and i am scared.

if i really fail my GP. which i was pretty sure right after the exam.

and imagine the feeling of getting a B, that you might start to wonder if it was a high B.

but all these are over.

the most important thing is that i need to get out of here...

since many people are worried about that day, i shall be worried too.

it is not really surprising that i am not worried at this time.

not cuz i can get perfect score... duh. do i look like i am that kind of material?

but cuz well...

1. it is over, just take it! or you can choose to be so worried that you screw up your only holiday after the two years, and still face it.

2. i got stuff to worry about like how to get a bus ticket in such a short time... T.T and when will they announce the date so that i can apply leave from work?!! [ok, maybe some people does not need to worry about this...] and where am i staying?

3. i am still going to uni or college after this. either here or there. there will give me more freedom and less money. here i will have slightly more money but less freedom... hm... but here, i have aSh, reg, cl... and :p but less cute foreign guys... hehe. anyway, in conclusion, i will still continue on with life.

the only thing about taking this result is to know if my a bit of hard work at the last minute paid off [cuz i know there are people out there who are much much more hardworking than me [who comes into your mind? :D], wait, i think everyone else are more hardworking than me, but luckily they influenced me :D before it is too late [i hope...], like the day before a levels or it will be a lesson for me to work harder. T.T

another thing is the course i will be accepted in.

well, why not do your degree here and continue masters there? if you are willing.

ok, this entry is for mediocre like me... so if you are admitting that you have average results like me, you can continue reading, if not, just laugh your head off at how no ambition [is there such word : ambitionless?] and simplistic this lady can be. hehe.

my boss's daughter-in-law told me that there is one of the most expensive country to take a degree programme.

although i have to admit their courses are much wider than here. like you have to take science for a business degree. hm... nicely put, it would be holistic. another way you can say it is kiasu.

cuz there is no point in taking just one sucject on chemistry, right? it is not going to end up anywhere when 98% [random large number, as long as it has the effect :p] of what you study is accounts and the 2% is biology... god knows if you can even become a biology teacher in secondary school.

anyway, about the results... at worst, i would be embarrassing my family and myself if i get bad results. and i cannot say that i sure can get ok results cuz i am quite pantang this kind of thing. you never know... hehe.

and all the people who are watching me so that they can laugh their fat ass out when i fall, go ahead. just make sure your children do not get into a worse situation. cuz that time, i will be laughing my fat bum + thigh + tummy + baby fat out :p

while for people who put so much hope in me, first part of all, you do not know how it is like, you just think it is easy, well, the fact that i slacked so much is partly my fault too, but if i disappointed them, aww... sorry is all i can say. after all, i have nothing to do with you people, why are you so worried about me! give me stress only. but really...

as for my parents, ah, they always say it is ok. so, it is ok :D [pity my parents for having daughter like me :p better shang a char siew than me, at least they can eat char siew :p]

plus i always think that parents who put too much hope in and demand from their children are doing so cuz they themselves cannot achieve it. well, if you cannot, why force your children to walk the path that you wanted to walk on? let them be them. just like they might like art or music... i learnt that from dad; he told me so.

so, for people who are worrying... go ahead, just do not influence me :D

joking.

there is more to live. [i hope :p] if not, listen to stacie oricco's song entitled 'there's gotta be more to life'. [although i do not know the lyrics :p]

ps : very addicted to the chinese old songs from the 50's :D
